Reflected XSS via unescaped AJAX error message
Published Mar 14, 2022 · Updated Aug 2, 2024
Reflected XSS in Master Addons for Elementor before 1.8.5 allows remote attackers to execute script via a crafted error_message value. The jltma_restrict_content AJAX action returns error_message in its response without sanitizing or escaping the untrusted value. Successful exploitation requires a victim to submit the attacker's crafted request, after which script runs in the site's browser origin and can act with that victim's access.
