Sandbox escape via RenderFrameHostImpl use-after-free
Published Feb 12, 2022 · Updated Aug 2, 2024
Use-after-free in Google Chrome Site Isolation before 97.0.4692.99 allows remote attackers to escape its sandbox via crafted HTML. Public materials identify a RenderFrameHostImpl lifetime error that leaves browser code using an object after its storage is freed, but the exact callback sequence is undisclosed. A victim must load attacker-controlled HTML; successful exploitation crosses the renderer sandbox boundary and can affect the host.
