Reflected XSS via unescaped HTML element selection
Published Feb 21, 2022 · Updated Aug 2, 2024
Reflected XSS in Igor Funa Ad Inserter and Ad Inserter Pro before 2.7.10 allows remote attackers to run script via a crafted POST. The plugins return the unsanitized and unescaped html_element_selection value into an HTML page, allowing crafted markup to break out of its context. Exploitation requires a victim to submit or load the attacker-controlled request, after which script runs in that victim's browser context.
