Stored XSS via unescaped thumbnail group names
Published Jan 20, 2022 · Updated Aug 2, 2024
Stored XSS in Pimcore before 10.2.9 allows remote authenticated users to execute JavaScript in an administrator's browser. The thumbnail and video-thumbnail settings trees return saved group names without HTML encoding, causing a crafted group value to become executable markup when rendered. An authenticated user must save the group name and an administrator must open the affected settings view; the script then runs in that administrator's web session.
