Authenticated stored script execution via unsanitized link URLs
Published Jan 19, 2022 · Updated Aug 2, 2024
Stored XSS in Orchard Core before 1.2.2 allows remote authenticated users to execute script in another user's browser via a crafted link URL. LinkFieldDisplayDriver and menu-item update paths accepted URLs without rejecting values changed by HTML sanitization before rendering them as link targets. An account permitted to edit the affected content must store the URL, and another user must view the resulting page; the script then runs in that viewer's origin.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
