Stored JavaScript execution via escaped-colon filter bypass
Published Jan 25, 2022 · Updated Aug 2, 2024
Stored XSS in GetGrav Grav before 1.7.28 allows remote authenticated users to run arbitrary JavaScript in a viewer's browser. The Security::detectXss invalid_protocols regex recognizes literal colons after dangerous URI schemes but misses an HTML-entity-escaped : sequence. A low-privilege account must create a crafted page, and the payload runs only when another user views the stored content.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
