CVE-2022-0265Public exploitNetwork attack vector

File disclosure via unsafe XML configuration parsing

Published Mar 3, 2022 · Updated Aug 2, 2024

XML external entity injection in Hazelcast 5.1-BETA-1 allows attackers to read local data when crafted XML configuration is parsed. AbstractXmlConfigRootTagRecognizer creates a SAX parser without disabling document type declarations, causing external entities to be resolved. Exploitation requires attacker-controlled XML configuration to reach the recognizer; entity resolution can expose files or trigger outbound requests.
