Stored script execution via unescaped profile image fields
Published Jan 18, 2022 · Updated Feb 13, 2025
Stored XSS in EventPrime Events ProfileGrid 4.7.4 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to inject scripts through profile images. The profile update handler in admin/class-profile-magic-admin.php stores pm_user_avatar and pm_cover_image values without sufficient output escaping. Subscriber-level access is sufficient, and the script runs when a visitor views the attacker-controlled profile, exposing that browser session to data access or actions available to the viewer.
