CVE-2022-0221

Local-file disclosure via external entities in isasln files

Published Mar 28, 2022 · Updated Aug 2, 2024

XXE in Schneider Electric SCADAPack Workbench 6.6.8a and earlier allows remote attackers to read local files via a malicious solution file. When an isasln file specifies an external-entity URI, the XML parser retrieves that URI and embeds its contents into the parsed document. Exploitation requires a user to open the crafted file and can send files readable by the Workbench process to an attacker-controlled server.
