Published Feb 21, 2022 · Updated Aug 2, 2024
Missing authorization in WpDevArt Coming soon and Maintenance mode before 3.5.3 allows remote authenticated users to email subscribers. The coming_soon_send_mail AJAX handler accepts attacker-controlled message fields and sends them to every stored subscriber without a capability or CSRF check. Any logged-in account, including the Subscriber role, can trigger the bulk send, enabling unauthorized messages to reach the site's subscriber list.
