Private caption disclosure via missing access check
Published Jan 7, 2022 · Updated Aug 2, 2024
Improper access control in Framasoft PeerTube before 4.1.0 allows remote attackers to read captions from private videos. The caption-listing validator loaded a video by identifier and returned its caption records without checking whether the requester could view a private, internal, or blocklisted video. Knowledge of such a video identifier is required; no authentication or user interaction is needed, and the consequence is limited to disclosure of caption data.
