CVE-2022-0124Public exploitNetwork attack vector

Slack link spoofing via unescaped merge request titles

Published Jan 18, 2022 · Updated Aug 2, 2024

Cross-site scripting in GitLab before 14.4.5, 14.5.0 through 14.5.2, and 14.6.0 allows remote authenticated users to spoof Slack links. The Slack integration inserts an unescaped merge-request title into mrkdwn, causing Slack to interpret attacker-supplied angle-bracket link syntax as a labeled URL. Exploitation requires permission to submit a crafted merge request, an enabled Slack integration, and a recipient who clicks the spoofed notification link.
