CVE-2022-0123Network attack vector

CI traffic interception via skipped certificate validation

Published Mar 28, 2022 · Updated Aug 2, 2024

Improper certificate validation in GitLab before 14.4.5, 14.5.0 through 14.5.2, and 14.6.0 allows attackers to intercept external CI traffic. Connections to some configured external CI services proceed without validating the peer's TLS certificate, allowing a substituted endpoint to be trusted. Exploitation requires high privileges and a man-in-the-middle network position; interception exposes or alters CI data without interrupting availability.
