Inappropriate implementation in Google Chrome DevTools before 97.0.4692.71 allows attackers to escape the extension sandbox via crafted HTML. Google has not disclosed the DevTools locus or the incorrect operation on untrusted HTML because the underlying bug remains restricted. Exploitation requires a user to install a malicious extension and encounter its crafted page, after which the extension can cross its sandbox boundary.
