CVE-2022-0005

Information disclosure via physical JTAG probing

Published May 12, 2022 · Updated May 5, 2025

Information disclosure in Intel Processors with SGX allows physically proximate attackers to read sensitive data through JTAG probing. The JTAG interface exposes sensitive information when an attacker physically probes affected processor steppings; deeper implementation details are undisclosed. Physical possession or equivalent board-level access is required, and the reported effect is limited to confidentiality rather than modification or interruption.
