Application hang via oversized note payload
Published May 16, 2026 · Updated May 16, 2026
Denial of service in Hagens Media Color Notes 1.4 allows attackers to hang the iOS application by pasting an oversized note payload. The note editor accepts a 350,000-character string twice without enforcing a practical size limit, driving excessive memory allocation until the process stops responding. Exploitation requires direct interaction with the note-creation interface, and the published proof of concept demonstrates only an application hang on iOS 14.2.
