Unauthenticated database extraction via search_query injection
Published May 16, 2026 · Updated May 16, 2026
SQL injection in LayerBB 1.1.4 allows remote attackers to extract sensitive database data through a crafted search_query POST parameter. The /search.php search handler accepts injected CASE WHEN expressions in search_query, causing attacker-controlled SQL to alter the database query. The endpoint requires no authentication or user interaction, and the demonstrated conditional payload exposes database contents.
