Authenticated code execution via symlink following
Published May 10, 2026 · Updated May 10, 2026
Command execution in CyberPanel 2.1 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to read arbitrary files and execute shell commands. The filemanager controller follows symbolic links created from the user-controlled completeStartingPath value, while /websites/fetchFolderDetails executes attacker-supplied shell commands. A valid low-privilege account is required; successful exploitation exposes server files and runs commands with the panel service's operating-system privileges.
