Authenticated stored XSS via unsanitized article text
Published Jan 23, 2026 · Updated Jan 23, 2026
Stored XSS in bloofoxCMS 0.5.1.0 through 0.5.2.1 allows remote authenticated users to run scripts via an article's text field. In admin/include/inc_content_articles.php, the new-article path passes POST text through replace_specialchars(), which does not strip or encode HTML, before inserting it into sys_content. An account with article-writing permission can persist browser-executed markup that runs when another user opens the affected article, exposing non-HttpOnly cookies.
