Unquoted service path handling in FreeLAN 2.2 allows local users to execute arbitrary code with LocalSystem privileges on Windows. The FreeLAN Service ImagePath stores an executable path containing spaces without enclosing quotation marks, so Windows can resolve an attacker-planted executable earlier in the path. A low-privileged local user needs write access to a searched path location and service startup to run the planted program as LocalSystem.
