Local privilege escalation via unquoted service path
Published Jan 21, 2026 · Updated Jan 21, 2026
Privilege escalation in Open Systems Adaptable Solutions Traverse Extension 11 x86 allows local users to execute code as LocalSystem. The TravExtensionHostSvc service registers C:\Program Files\Open Systems, Inc\TRAVERSE\TRAVERSE.Host.CustomExtensions.exe without quoting its whitespace-containing binary path. Exploitation requires local access and write permission to a searched path segment; successful execution grants LocalSystem code execution.
