LocalSystem code execution via unquoted service path
Published Jan 16, 2026 · Updated Jan 16, 2026
Unquoted service path handling in Sandboxie Plus 0.7.4 allows local users to execute code as LocalSystem during SbieSvc startup. Windows receives the SbieSvc ImagePath as C:\Program Files\Sandboxie-Plus\SbieSvc.exe without enclosing quotation marks, so path parsing can select an attacker-placed executable from an earlier path segment. Exploitation requires write access to a searched path location and a service start or system reboot; the supplied CVE is rejected as a duplicate of CVE-2022-50920.
