CVE-2021-47831Public exploit

Application crash via oversized container-folder value

Published Jan 16, 2026 · Updated Jan 16, 2026

Denial of service in Sandboxie 5.49.7 allows local users to crash Sandboxie Control via an oversized container-folder value. The Set Container Folder dialog accepts a pasted 5,000-character value without rejecting its excessive length, and Sandboxie Control crashes when the setting is submitted. Exploitation requires local graphical access and active submission of the crafted value; the reported consequence is limited to crashing the management application.
