Local privilege escalation via unquoted service path
Published Jan 15, 2026 · Updated Jan 15, 2026
Unquoted service path in Flexense DiskSorter Enterprise 13.6.12 allows local users to execute code with LocalSystem privileges. The Disk Sorter Enterprise service registers C:\Program Files\Disk Sorter Enterprise\bin\disksrs.exe without quotation marks, causing Windows to search earlier path segments for an executable. Exploitation requires write access to an earlier searched location and a service start, after which attacker-controlled code runs as LocalSystem.
