Local privilege escalation via unquoted service paths
Published Jan 15, 2026 · Updated Jan 15, 2026
Unquoted service paths in Flexense SyncBreeze 13.6.18 allow local users to execute code with LocalSystem privileges on Windows. The Sync Breeze Server and Sync Breeze Enterprise services register unquoted executable paths under C:\Program Files and start syncbrs.exe automatically as LocalSystem. A low-privileged user must be able to place a competing executable in an earlier path segment; the code runs when either service starts.
