Code execution via registration name overflow
Published Jan 15, 2026 · Updated Jan 15, 2026
Stack-based buffer overflow in Kingdia CD Extractor 3.0.2 allows local users to execute arbitrary code through the registration name field. The registration dialog accepts more than 256 bytes without bounding the fixed-size buffer, allowing the payload to overwrite Structured Exception Handler control data. Exploitation requires a user to paste the crafted value and submit the dialog; resulting code runs with the application's privileges and can open a bind shell.
