SYSTEM privilege escalation via unquoted service path
Published Jan 15, 2026 · Updated Jan 15, 2026
Unquoted service path in Dynojet PowerCore 2.3.0 (Build 303) allows local users to execute code as Local System through DJ.UpdateService. DJ.UpdateService registers C:\Program Files\Dynojet Power Core\DJ.UpdateService.exe without quotation marks, so Windows can resolve an attacker-planted executable from an earlier path segment. A local authenticated account that can write to a searched path segment and start or restart the demand-start service gains Local System execution.
