LocalSystem code execution via unquoted service path
Published Jan 15, 2026 · Updated Jan 15, 2026
Unquoted service path handling in 10-Strike Network Inventory Explorer Pro 9.31 allows local users to gain LocalSystem code execution. The srvInventoryWebServer service registers an executable path containing spaces without enclosing it in quotation marks, causing Windows to search intervening path segments. A low-privileged local user who can place a crafted executable in a searched location gains system-level execution when the LocalSystem service starts.
