Unauthenticated SQL backup access via forged cookies
Published Dec 9, 2025 · Updated Apr 7, 2026
Authentication bypass in COMMAX Biometric Access Control System 1.0.0 allows remote attackers to read SQL backup listings through forged cookies. The /db_dump.php handler accepts attacker-chosen CMX_ADMIN_ID, CMX_ADMIN_LV, and related CMX cookie values as proof of an administrator session without validating their integrity. No credentials or user interaction are required; the demonstrated request exposes available database backups, while the CNA also reports bypass of physical controls.
