CVE-2021-47654

Local process interruption via unreleased path list

Published Feb 26, 2025 · Updated May 11, 2026

Memory leak in the Landlock sandboxer sample in Linux allows local users to interrupt the process by exhausting its memory. parse_path() allocates path_list, but the success path in main() returns without releasing that allocation after applying filesystem rules. Exploitation requires local execution of the affected sample with supplied path lists; the leak is confined to that userspace process, with no reported data exposure or kernel-memory corruption.
