CVE-2021-47621Network attack vector

Server file disclosure via insecure POM parsing

Published Jun 21, 2024 · Updated Mar 13, 2025

XXE in ClassGraph before 4.8.112 allows remote attackers to read server files through a crafted pom.xml document. VersionFinder.getVersion searches parent paths for pom.xml and used unsecured DOM and XPath factories without disabling external DTD or entity resolution. A consuming application must cause that code to parse an attacker-controlled POM; successful exploitation exposes files readable by the JVM process.
