Local privilege escalation via dangling PBLE chunk
Published Jun 19, 2024 · Updated Aug 5, 2026
Use-after-free in the Linux kernel irdma driver 5.14 through 5.15.9 allows local users to corrupt kernel memory through RDMA verbs. When irdma_hmc_sd_one fails, add_pble_prm frees a PBLE chunk that remains linked in pinfo.clist, so later allocation or cleanup walks reclaimed memory. Access to an irdma-backed /dev/infiniband/uverbs device is required; unprivileged memory-registration requests can expose kernel data, overwrite kernel memory, or panic the host.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
