Local service interruption via non-QoS status handling
Published Jun 19, 2024 · Updated May 11, 2026
Uninitialized-pointer access in Linux mac80211 allows local users to interrupt service through wireless transmit-status processing. ieee80211_sta_tx_wmm_ac_notify reads a QoS header from a non-QoS nullfunc packet that is too short to contain the field. The issue requires CONFIG_MAC80211 and local low-privilege access, and the documented impact is limited to availability.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
