Memory exhaustion via leaked AF_RXRPC peer references
Published May 24, 2024 · Updated May 11, 2026
Memory leak in AF_RXRPC in Linux 5.10 through 5.10.83 and 5.11 through 5.15.6 allows local users to exhaust kernel memory. In rxrpc_look_up_bundle(), the found_bundle_free path frees a duplicate bundle candidate without releasing its candidate->params.peer reference, retaining an rxrpc_peer object. Low-privileged local access and repeated reachability of that collision path are required; the published records do not specify whether exhaustion hangs or crashes the host.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
