Local privilege escalation via dangling GPU pointer

Use-after-free in the MSM Adreno a3xx GPU driver in Linux 5.11 through 5.14.13 allows local users to gain kernel privileges. The a3xx_gpu_init function converts error pointers to positive 1, returns apparent success after destroying the GPU, and leaves dangling platform driver data. On Qualcomm a3xx devices, access to a local DRM node can exercise the freed pointer, causing a kernel Oops or permitting kernel-memory control.
