CVE-2021-47203

Service interruption via stale lpfc failure state

Published Apr 10, 2024 · Updated Aug 5, 2026

Out-of-bounds write in the lpfc SCSI driver in affected Linux kernel releases allows local users to interrupt service via queue corruption. In lpfc_drain_txq(), fail_msg remains set after one request fails, so later successful jobs enter both txcmplq and the cancellation list. Local low-privileged access is required, and triggering the flaw can corrupt kernel lists and halt service on systems using the lpfc driver.
