CVE-2021-47161

Service interruption via unreleased DMA resources

Published Mar 25, 2024 · Updated May 11, 2026

Resource leak in affected Linux spi-fsl-dspi driver versions allows local users to interrupt service after a failed device probe. The probe error path leaves DMA channels and coherent buffers acquired by dspi_request_dma() instead of calling dspi_release_dma(). Exposure requires the Freescale DSPI driver with DMA enabled and a later probe-stage failure; the published assessment reports availability impact only.
