Kernel disclosure or crash via unchecked EINT index
Published Mar 4, 2024 · Updated Aug 5, 2026
Out-of-bounds read in the Linux MediaTek pinctrl driver allows local users to disclose kernel memory or crash the system via EINT mapping. The mtk_xt_get_gpio_n function indexes desc[eint_n] before ensuring that the EINT number is below the GPIO count. Reachability requires local low-privilege access and a system using the affected MediaTek pinctrl implementation; consequences are limited to kernel-memory disclosure and service interruption.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
