Resource leak via failed Venus device probe
Published Feb 28, 2024 · Updated May 11, 2026
Resource leak in Linux's Venus driver in 5.5 through 5.10.36, 5.11 through 5.11.20, and 5.12 through 5.12.3 allows local users to leak handles. In venus_probe(), of_icc_get() obtains an interconnect resource, but subsequent error exits fail to undo that successful acquisition. Reachability requires the Qualcomm Venus probe path to pass that call and then encounter a later error; the published record identifies only a resource leak.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
