CVE-2021-46850Known exploitationPublic exploitNetwork attack vector

Authenticated command execution via unchecked license argument

Published Oct 24, 2022 · Updated May 7, 2025

Command injection in myVesta Control Panel before 0.9.8-26-43 and Vesta Control Panel before 0.9.8-26 allows attackers to run arbitrary commands. The /edit/server POST handler passes v_sftp_license to bin/v-activate-vesta-license without first validating the license argument format. Remote administrative authentication and access to the endpoint are required; successful injection executes commands with the control panel's server-side privileges.
