User deception via system pop-up overlay
Published May 13, 2022 · Updated Aug 4, 2024
UI overlay flaw in the iConnect module in Huawei EMUI 10.0.0, 10.1.0, 10.1.1, 11.0.0, and 12.0.0 allows attackers to mislead users. The iConnect module permits a third-party pop-up to cover a system pop-up; Huawei has not disclosed the underlying window-validation failure. Exploitation requires a malicious pop-up to overlap a system prompt and user interaction with the deceptive display, causing unintended operations.
