CVE-2021-46760Network attack vector

Code execution via malformed bootloader system call

Published May 9, 2023 · Updated Jan 27, 2025

Out-of-bounds access in AMD Ryzen Threadripper 3000 and PRO processors allows attackers to disclose data or execute code via a system call. The AMD Secure Processor bootloader accepts a malformed system call from a UApp or ABL and performs an out-of-bounds memory access. Reachability requires control of a malicious or compromised UApp or ABL; the resulting access can expose sensitive information or enable code execution.
