CVE-2021-46754

Sensitive data exposure via unvalidated bootloader input

Published May 9, 2023 · Updated Aug 4, 2024

Insufficient input validation in AMD Ryzen and Athlon processor bootloaders allows attackers to expose sensitive data to the SMU. The ASP bootloader accepts unvalidated input from a Uapp or ABL and transfers sensitive information to the SMU when coerced. Exploitation requires control of a Uapp or ABL; AMD reports resulting confidentiality and integrity loss but does not disclose the specific input or exposed data.
