Local privilege escalation via sensitive SMN aperture mapping
Published Jun 1, 2026 · Updated Jun 1, 2026
Access-control weakness in AMD Secure Processor firmware allows local privileged users to escalate privileges through an untrusted application. The ASP applies access controls too coarsely and permits the application to map sensitive System Management Network apertures into user space. High local privileges and high attack complexity are required; successful aperture access exposes protected platform state for reading or modification.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
