CVE-2021-46702

Onion-service history disclosure via uncleared RAM

Published Feb 26, 2022 · Updated Aug 4, 2024

Information disclosure in Tor Browser 9.0.7 on Windows 10 build 10586 allows local users to recover visited onion services from RAM. The browser fails to clear memory holding onion-service artifacts, leaving recoverable traces for several hours after browsing ends. Local access sufficient to analyze RAM exposes browsing history and weakens the anonymity boundary without altering data or service availability.
