CVE-2021-46664Public exploit

Database service crash via NULL aggregate dereference

Published Feb 1, 2022 · Updated Aug 4, 2024

NULL pointer dereference in MariaDB Server 10.5.9 and earlier allows local users to crash the database service with a crafted DELETE query. While optimizing the DELETE, sub_select_postjoin_aggr receives a NULL aggr pointer and asserts that it is non-NULL instead of handling the missing aggregate state. Local low-privileged database access capable of issuing the crafted statements is required; the bounded consequence is a database-server crash.
