Database server crash via uninitialized reference array

Denial of service in affected MariaDB Server releases allows local users to crash mysqld with a crafted nested-subquery UPDATE statement. During UPDATE planning, mysql_select() enables select-list resolution for an empty fields list, leaving ref_pointer_array entries uninitialized. A database account able to submit the crafted statement is required, and exploitation terminates mysqld without reported data disclosure or modification.
