CVE-2021-46659Public exploit

Database crash via cross-VIEW nest-level mishandling

Published Jan 29, 2022 · Updated Aug 4, 2024

Denial of service in MariaDB Server before 10.7.2 allows local users to crash the database server with a crafted query using a VIEW. The optimizer carries SELECT_LEX::nest_level across VIEW scopes instead of treating it as local to each VIEW when resolving an aggregate and subquery. A low-privilege authenticated database session is required; successful exploitation aborts the server process and interrupts all database clients.
