Code execution via uninitialized TIF parser memory
Published Feb 18, 2022 · Updated Aug 4, 2024
Use of uninitialized memory in Bentley Systems MicroStation 10.16.0.80 allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary code via a TIF file. The TIF parser accesses memory that it did not properly initialize while processing attacker-controlled image data. Exploitation requires a user to open the crafted file or visit a page that supplies it, after which code runs in the current process.
