Interpreter crash via invalid memory read
Published Jan 27, 2022 · Updated Aug 4, 2024
Denial of service in Cesanta mJS 2.20.0 allows local users to crash the interpreter by executing a crafted JavaScript file. The mjs_set_internal function at src/mjs_object.c:207 performs an invalid memory read while processing the supplied script and terminates under AddressSanitizer. Execution requires a user to run the crafted script locally; the demonstrated consequence is process termination, with no reported confidentiality or integrity impact.
